Tuesday 13 October 2020 (16:30-18:00 CEST)

How prepared are the markets for China’s imminent “zero imports” deadline?

The anticipated COVID-related spike in recovered fibre values was quick to evaporate. Paper and board collection levels in many Western countries have been tempered by summer holidays at a time of decent demand from Asia, but there has been no renewed upswing in prices.

So what can recyclers expect as we head into the fourth quarter of 2020?

Recent weeks have also seen Turkey limit its paper recyclers’ fibre imports to a maximum of 50% of their production capacity, as compared to 80% previously. And with China’s deadline for zero solid waste imports creeping ever closer, there will be plenty for experts to discuss at today’s BIR Paper Division’s webinar.

There will also be a guest presentation by Gilles Lénon, Managing Director of the Centre Technique du Papier, the French Pulp and Paper Institute, and his colleague Fabienne Vercelli, CTP’s Director of Customers Relations, on innovative applications for recovered paper and board.

You can still register for today’s session and get access to all commodity sessions and 24-hour networking opportunities!
